Apple Releases iWork 9.0.3 Update

Apple recently released its iWork 9.0.3 update, which improves the stability and compatibility of Pages, Keynote and Numbers. According to Apple, the update addresses general compatibility issues, updates iWork's Help system and reduces the size of files that contain movies or have Instant Alpha applied to images. You can find a complete list of the enhancements installed by the update at Apple.com Support.

iWUG® recommends that iWork users running iWork '09 install this update.

Apple's iWork 9.0.3 Update, which requires iWork 9.0 or later, is available using Software Update or as a stand-alone download at Apple.com Support.

The easiest way to download and install the update is by using the Software Update capability built into Mac OS X. Follow these steps:

  1. If you have a dial-up connection to the Internet, connect to your Internet service. Skip this step if you use a broadband service.
  2. Choose "Software Update" from the Apple Menu. Your computer will access Apple's web site and find any updates available for the Apple software on your computer.
  3. Click on "Install x" where "x" is the number of updates available for your computer.

If the updates do not appear in your Software Update window, switch to the Finder and confirm that Keynote, Numbers and Pages are in the iWork '09 folder within the Application folder on your hard drive. If they are not in that folder, find them on your hard drive and drag them there. (If you do not have an iWork '09 folder, you are probably using an earlier version of iWork and do not need (and cannot install) these updates.) Then run Software Update again.

After you install the update you will be running Pages 4.0.3, Keynote 5.0.3 and Numbers 2.0.3.
