Apple Releases Updates For iWork ’08

Apple has just released its second set of updates for Keynote 4.x, Pages 3.x and Numbers 1.x, the three applications that comprise the company's iWork '08 suite. After you install these updates, you will be running Keynote 4.0.2, Pages 3.0.2 and Numbers 1.0.2 respectively.

Apple didn't release much information about the updates except to say that the Keynote update addresses performance issues while playing and exporting presentations. The Pages and Numbers updates address compatibility issues with Mac OS X.

Users report improved performance of Pages and Numbers after installing these updates.

You only need these updates if you are running the '08 version of iWork.

The easiest way to download and install these updates is by using the Software Update capability built into Mac OS X. Follow these steps:
  1. Choose "System Preferences" from the Apple Menu.
  2. Click on "Software Update" in the System Preferences panel.
  3. If you have a dial-up connection to the Internet, connect to your Internet service. Skip this step if you use a broadband service.
  4. Click on "Check Now" in the Software Update window.
  5. Click on "Install x Now" where "x" is the number of updates available for your computer.

If one or more updates do not appear in your Software Update window, switch to the Finder and confirm that all three updates are in the iWork ’08 folder within the Application folder on your hard drive. If you do not have an iWork ’08 folder, you are probably using an earlier version of iWork and do not need (and cannot install) these updates.
