Is this the replacement for the AppleWorks database?

Postby Barry » Wed Nov 14, 2007 2:24 am

Filemaker, which when it was known as Claris, released the original version of ClarisWorks, today announced Bento, a personal/professional database application.

The announcement, and a free trial download (preview) of the pre-release version is at www.filemaker.com

There's a video demo at the site. Click the link under Announcements.

Macnn has a first look report here:

Bento requires Leopard, and Leopard requires a G4 or later processor and a minimum processor speed of just under 900 MHz, so Bento isn't a database solution for those of us who haven't bought a new computer for a few years or who haven't done the latest OS Upgrade.

According to Macnn, Bento is "expected to ship in January 2008 for $50 ($100 for family license)."
