Clippings

Postby Sandhill » Thu May 07, 2009 3:34 pm

I have been a long time AppleWorks user (since Apple ][ days) but have a clipping problem. I am using v6.2.9 and the clippings will not print correctly. I have done the usual .plist, cache and preference dumps and emptied the recent items folder but to no avail. Anyone have suggestions. I seldom use them but would like to on a project.

I should also report that other graphics inserted do print OK.

I may have a partial answer. I only have a problem when I import a clipping into a draw page and then enlarge it.

Everything is OK in other pages.

Hi Bob,

What version of AppleWorks are you using? What System? What printer (and what type of printer)?

What happens when you try to save the document as a PDF file?

Have you tried printing the document from a different account on your computer?

AppleWorks keeps a set of preferences files for each user. A first step in trouble shooting is to delete these prefs files.

Quit AppleWorks, then:
Go to Users > your name > Library > Preferences...
Locate and delete the file com.apple.appleworks.plist
Still in the Preferences folder, locate and open the AppleWorks folder.
In the AppleWorks folder, locate and delete the cache files and AppleWorks preferences file.

Relaunch Appleworks.

Barry

Barry,

v6.2.9
iMac 24
OSX 10.5.6
Epson R1800

I typically do all the cleaning that you suggest many times a year. This seems to be an intermittent problem and may even be due to other software. Some times a restart is effective.

I will use the work around I described above until I discover what is going on.
