Recently installed Appleworks 6.2.9 on a 1.83 mac mini intel core 2 duo. I find that after writing a WP file and clicking spelling, I always have a crash. I then have to relaunch Appleworks and my recent document and try again. Usually spell check window will open on the second or third try. Any thoughts? VASTO

Two essential maintenance items:

Repair Permissions (after any major installation)
Launch Disk Utility, choose your hard drive, click Repair Permissions

Delete AppleWorks's preferences files.

Thanks Barry for the suggestion. I've done the repair permissions. Wow, so many needed repair! Do you mean to delete <com.apple.appleworks.plist> ?

OK. I just read your suggested link and trashed all but buttons pref. Thanks again!
