Oh Geez....I can't remember what combination of keystrokes it is to remove the edit marks from an appleworks document. My hubby accidentally did something and all of his work now has the "return" marks, spacebar marks, etc.

I've been all over the place and can't find it!!!

Thanks soooo much!

Holding the command key and typing ";" (semicolon) will toggle showing text symbols on and off.

To answer the more general question:

Many of the keyboard shortcuts (but not this one) are listed in the menus beside the equivalent Menu item. This one doesn't show up there because it's a preferences setting, not a menu item.

But you have a friend in the Help menu. Go Help > AppleWorks Help, then search "keyboard shortcuts" (without the quotes). Show/Hide Invisibles is in the Word Processing shortcuts, second item in the list.

Regards,
Barry

There is also a button you can add to the Button Bar to toggle invisibles on & off.

THANK YOU, Peggy! THAT is actually what I was looking for, now that I dig back into my memory bank!!! And Barry --- as I remember from when I was very first learning -- you were always here, too, to help! I've actually printed this off and have it stored it away. Now, if I can find the post-it-note to remind me where I put it!!!

I notice there aren't nearly as many posts as there used to be years ago --- but believe me, this site is invaluable. I do more with other applications now and when my hubby accidentally hit some keys yesterday morning, and I couldn't find the right combination to get the screen back to normal, I knew I would get answers here.

Tim, Peggy, Barry --- Don't ever leave me!!!

Ya'll have a terrific day ...and thanks again!
