Appleworks Database

Postby Mike » Mon Oct 01, 2012 1:55 pm

My Appleworks database has developed a glitch where creating and saving a new record is normal, but when creating and saving a second new record, the data from the first record is overwritten on the data in the second. If this spurious data is deleted from the second record it is also automatically deleted from the first record.
If further records are created they are normal, unless the two damaged records are both deleted whereon the next two created records exhibit the same strange behaviour.
One solution is to leave the two records in the database, but mark them as errant and irrelevant.
Any ideas why this has started in the database?

Mike:

I'd bet on a PREFERENCES issue.

Quit AppleWorks

In your user log - find PREFERENCES > APPLEWORKS then PREFERENCES and delete the Prefs file (or at least drag it to the trash.)

Reboot AW and you should be good to go.

Blessings, dean
