Table of Contents

Postby Al Fancsali » Fri Feb 02, 2007 9:38 am

I am trying to use information typed in my footers in the table of contents. I have checked the box in TOC that says header and footer but when I attempt to create a TOC I get a message box that says there is "The table of contents is empty because none of the paragraph styles selected in the Document Inspector are used in the document."

I have tried assigning different styles to the information in the footer as well as assigning no style and cannot get that information to print out in my TOC.

The TOC box says that you can get that information in the TOC. Can anyone tell me how. I am using Pages 1.0.2

Make sure you are entering the TOC at a point in the document BEFORE the header or footer style appears. It may be that they header or footer style is being used on the same page as the TOC and I don't think Pages will allow you to use it.

If you need a header or footer on the TOC page or section, try using a different style.

Good luck,
