AW hung CPU onleading

Worked fine for years until suddenly very slow to open, spinning wheel for 5 min, text taking several seconds for each letter. Only thing new is that I upgraded RAM from 256 to 1G several weeks ago, and downloaded and have been using Firefox for a few days. Any ideas??

It sounds like a full recent items folder. Do a search for "recent items" in this forum & you'll find lots of posts with the solution.
