Printing a degree symbol

Postby Michael O'Callaghan » Tue May 19, 2009 10:35 am

I have lost the ability to print a 'Degree' symbol.
<ALT> < SHIFT> 8 used to give this, but now only gives a solid 'Bullet Point' [•]

I did the alt shift 8 and got the correct symbol. I also use PopChar and also got the correct symbol.

What version are you using. I am using 6.2.9.
I would also go through the usual preference etc. cleaning.

Hi Michael,

I'm unable to reproduce this.

shift-option-8 on this machine (iMac Al, OSX 10.5.6) yields °
option-8 yields •

I haven't tried this on the iBook, running OS X 10.4.11 today, but at last use it gave the same results as above.

You might also try option-0 (zero). On the iMac, this yields º

Barry

Thank you all for the help. However I now think the problem is a programme corruption as AW has become unstable. Deleting preferences etc. has no effect.
Attempts to scroll down a Database reproduce one record some two hundred times or more, or opening a "Stationary" document will cause the window to expand to an infinite width and is impossible to close.
I think the only way forward is to remove the AW programme and reinstall.

Actually, before reinstalling, it might be prudent to create a new user account and see if the problem persists under the new user.
